The band is one of Scotland’s best loved ceilidh bands, and features accordion, fiddle, drums and piano. It never fails to make ceilidh, wedding, civil partnership or corporate event a success. The ceilidh band is based in Scotland but plays all over the UK covering cities from Edinburgh and Glasgow down to London and Manchester as well as abroad. (Most recently France, Indonesia, Tunisia, Lithuania, Belgium, Azerbaijan, Bahrain) We have appeared ‘live’ on the BBC Radio Scotland ‘Hogmanay’ showfor the last 7 years and will again in 2016.
We recently played at the Orkney, Newcastleton, Perthshire Amber and Tynemouth Festivals and have been featured in TV dramas like BBC’s Monarch of the Glen and STV’s Heartless ! The band was first put together in 1995 and we can provide a 3, 4 or 5 piece line-ups depending on what your wedding, function, civil partnership or budget dictates and we have of course our ‘ceilidh horn section’. Our callers can ‘call’ all the dances if you wish and we can also provide some disco or background music during intervals.
We can source jazz trios, piano players and other musicians such as the ‘Tom Finlay Trio’ or the ‘Moore 4 Saxophone Quartet’ to play at your drinks receptions or during meals, or a piper to play at your wedding. We can even compose original music specially for you on your wedding day. You can find out more about the ceilidh band and listen to the sound samples from both our albums in the music page
The ceilidh band was orginally formed in 1995 by a bunch of like minded musicians from the Stirling area for a one off charity night. Originally called ‘Ceilidh Minogue and the Cajun Hormones’, the Hormones were dropped, a few personel changes took place and the band became known as Ceilidh Minogue. In 2002, Gavin replaced Marianne Campbell on fiddle and the present line up has remained since then. Ceilidh Minogue is one of the very few ‘full-time’ professional ceilidh bands in Scotland.
The band has played in all the top venues like ‘Gleneagles Hotel’, ‘Dunkeld Hilton’, ‘Roman Camp Hotel’, ‘The Old Course Hotel’, ‘Marcliffe Hotel’, ‘Dalhousie Castle’, ‘Oxenfoord Castle’, ‘Balbirnie House’, ‘Dundas Castle’, ‘Caledonian Hotel’, ‘Balmoral Hotel’, ‘Drumossie Hotel’ etc….

Our albums have been played in radio stations all over the world and featured by the BBC on ‘The Reel Blend’.
Gigs further away would have to be poa as distance means more time as well as fuel costs. Overnight accommodation may be needed if down in England or islands.
